Philosophy Guides

Here are some guides, in either summary or outline form, that I’ve created in the past for my own use in tackling some major works in philosophy. As I find that they might be of use to others in guiding their own reading of these works, I’ve uploaded these for anyone who deems that they can benefit from them. You are free to distribute them as you will, but I ask that you properly attribute them, if you decide to quote or incorporate my thoughts or statements.

David Hume: An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding (Secs 2-7; 10-12)
David Hume: A Treatise of Human Nature (Bk. 2: Pt. 1, Sec. 1; Pt. 3, Secs. 1-5. Bk. 3: Pt. 1, Secs. 1-2; Pt. 2, Secs. 1-2 & 5; Pt. 3, Sec. 1. Appendix to Bk. 1)
G. W. Leibniz: Discourse on Metaphysics (Entire)
John Locke: An Essay Concerning Human Understanding (Bk. 1: Ch. 1. Bk. 2: Chs. 1-12; 23; 26-27. Bk. 3: Chs. 3; 6. Bk. 4: Chs. 1-3; 8-10; 14-16)
Rene Descartes: Meditations on First Philosophy (Entire)
William of Ockham: Theory of Terms: Part I of the Summa Logicae (Chs. 14-17)
